Kalvin Keene ID’d as Homeless Man Struck and Killed by Vehicle on South Grande Vista Avenue at Emery Street in Boyle Heights

Boyle Heights, California (June 24, 2021) – The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Bureau has identified the homeless man who died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Sunday night in Boyle Heights as Kalvin Keene, 62.
The deadly pedestrian accident occurred at about 10:46 p.m. Sunday, June 20, in the 1606 block of South Grande Vista Avenue at Emery Street.
According to the police, Keene was trying to cross the road at Emery Street when a silver four-door sedan heading southbound on South Grande Vista Avenue struck him.
Homeless Man Killed in Boyle Heights Pedestrian Crash
Keene was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver involved did not stop to render aid to Keene and fled the area. The suspect vehicle was last seen heading southbound on South Grande Vista.
Police are still searching for the hit-and-run driver.
