39-Year-Old Woman Badly injured in Kearny Mesa Pedestrian Accident on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard
Kearny Mesa, California (January 6, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and injured by a vehicle Friday evening in Kearny Mesa, a local news source reported.
The accident was reported shortly after 10:00 p.m. Friday, January 4 in the 7400 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard.
According to the reports, the pedestrian was standing on the southbound curb on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard when for an undetermined reason she was struck by a silver 2000 Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling westbound on the No. 1 lane of the street.
Paramedics responded to the scene and found the pedestrian badly injured. The victim, only identified as a 39-year-old woman, was immediately taken to a hospital with injuries including a lacerated kidney, several fractured ribs, and a large hematoma to her head. Her name and condition were not immediately disclosed.
It was immediately unclear if the driver involved stopped or fled the scene after the accident.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
