Juan Munoz Among Two People Killed in Head-On Collision on West Foothill Boulevard near Balboa Boulevard in Sylmar

Sylmar, California (May 18, 2021) – Juan Munoz, 32, of Sylmar, was among two people who were killed Sunday night in a two-vehicle crash in Sylmar.
The fatal accident happened at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, May 9, in the 16637 block of West Foothill Boulevard near Balboa Boulevard.
According to authorities, a car, driven by a 50-year-old man, crossed over double yellow lines into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a vehicle, driven by Violet Nazari, 57, of Granada.
Nazari was pronounced dead at the scene.
Munoz, who was a passenger in the vehicle that crashed into Nazari’s vehicle, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The 50-year-old driver was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries. His current condition was not disclosed.
Further details regarding the collision were not available, and the crash remains under investigation.
