Juan Leal Seriously Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on Avenue 280 in Visalia
Juan Leal ID’d as Person Hospitalized after Visalia Crash on Avenue 280 near Road 48

Visalia, California (January 27, 2021) – Juan Leal, 56, of Corcoran, has been identified as the person who was seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident last week in Visalia, authorities said.
The major injury accident happened at about 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, January 20, on Avenue 280, east of Road 48.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 1997 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Leal, was headed westbound on Avenue 280. A 2016 Peterbilt tanker truck, operated by Carlos Perez, 32, of Lemoore, was driving eastbound approaching the Chevrolet.
Leal then swerved into the opposing lane into the path of the Peterbilt. Perez noticed the pickup driving towards him and drove onto the south shoulder to avoid a collision, the officials said.
Perez had reportedly slowed the truck to about 35 mph when the Chevrolet rear-ended it.
Juan Leal Injured in Visalia Crash
Leal sustained major injuries and was flown to Kaweah Delta Medical Center for treatment. Perez was not injured.
It was not clear if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident.
