Dickie Baker ID’d as Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash at Floradora and Cedar Avenues in Fresno

Fresno, California (January 27, 2021) – The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has identified the pedestrian who died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver last week Thursday at a Fresno intersection as Dickie Baker, 53, of Fresno.
The deadly accident happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. Thursday, January 21, in the area of Floradora and Cedar avenues.
Authorities said Baker was walking across the street when he was hit by a southbound vehicle.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found Baker lying in the roadway. He was then taken to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle involved did not stop to render aid to Baker and fled the scene. Authorities described the suspect’s vehicle as a possible green or blue SUV or truck.
Police are still searching for the hit-and-run driver.
The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to call the authorities.
