El Monte, California (February 22, 2021) – The motorcyclist who died Saturday night following a hit-and-run crash in El Monte has been identified as John Spata, 56, of Temple City
The deadly motorcycle accident occurred at about 7:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, at the intersection of Lower Azusa Road and Peck Road.
According to the authorities, a truck was attempting to make a left turn when, for unknown reasons, the driver drove directly into the path of the motorcycle.
The truck ultimately collided with the motorcycle.
Victim In Fatal El Monte Motorcycle Crash Identified
Spata was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the truck fled the scene after the crash. The truck was described as a black, 4-door Toyota Tacoma with chrome bumpers.
Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run driver suspect.
