36-Year-Old Joaquin McKenzie Critically Hurt in Modesto Car Accident on Yosemite Boulevard
Modesto, California (May 2, 2019) – A male passenger who was severely hurt in a traffic accident in Modesto Tuesday morning has been identified as 36-year-old Joaquin McKenzie.
The accident, which was reported at around 6:50 a.m. April 30, occurred on Yosemite Boulevard.
The crash happened when an eastbound Acura broadsided a vehicle driven by a 27-year-old Sabrina Yarnell heading eastbound lanes at the 2400 block of Yosemite. At the same point, a silver Chevrolet S-10 pickup was reportedly driving westbound before the collision.
According to the reports, both Yarnell and her passenger McKenzie were trapped inside the pickup truck following the wreck. The two victims were extracted from the wreckage by the fire department personnel. Yarnell was sadly pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures. McKenzie suffered severe injuries as a result of the accident. He was immediately transported to the hospital for treatment and evaluation. McKenzie was listed to be in critical condition.
The driver of Acura identified as a 44-year-old woman was not hurt in the accident. She declined medication and to be taken to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the investigators handling the case are gathering more evidence and information to identify what caused the accident.
