Motorist, 88, Fatally Injured in San Diego Car Crash at Tierrasanta Boulevard and Tambor Road

San Diego, California (May 2, 2019) – An 88-year-old driver was hospitalized after being involved in a car crash in San Diego Thursday afternoon.
The accident was reported in the afternoon hours, May 2, at Tierrasanta Boulevard and Tambor Road.
The accident occurred when the driver of the 2008 Toyota drove directly into the lane of a westbound vehicle. Initial reports indicated that the motorist pulled onto Tierrasanta Boulevard from Tambor Road before the occurrence of the accident.
The driver of the Toyota, identified as a male party sustained life-threatening trauma following the accident. He was transported to a hospital for treatment and evaluation. No other injuries were reported to this time.
Drugs or alcohol were not considered as factors at the time of the collision. The crash remains under an active investigation.
