54 -Year-Old Alex Marroquin Arrested for La Quinta DUI Crash at Avenue 48 and Dune Palms Road
La Quinta, California (May 2, 2019) –54-year-old Alex Marroquin has been identified as the DUI driver who allegedly Crashed into a silver Nissan Altima and injured the driver in La Quinta Wednesday afternoon.
The two-vehicle accident, which was reported at around 4:41 p.m. May 1, occurred at Avenue 48 and Dune Palms Road.
The accident happened when Marroquin, a resident of Indio, who was driving a Nissan truck slammed into silver Nissan Altima at the intersection. Marroquin was reported to have allegedly failed to stop for a red traffic light at the time of the collision.
The Nissan Altima driver sustained moderate injuries following the wreck. The victim was transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance for treatment.
Drugs or alcohol were considered factors that caused the accident. Marroquin was subsequently booked into Indio’s county jail and charged for allegedly driving while intoxicated. The crash remains under an active investigation.
