Jessie Scalf Killed and 2 Infants Injured in Elk Grove Car Crash on 5 Freeway near Hood Franklin Road
Elk Grove, California (April 26, 2021) – The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has disclosed the identity of a woman who was killed in a rollover car crash in Elk Grove on Saturday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Interstate 5 Freeway near the Hood Franklin Road exit at about 7:38 p.m.
A white Mercedes-Benz SUV was traveling on the roadway when it overturned for unknown reasons.
The driver, who has since been identified as 33-year-old Jessie Marie Scalf, was killed in the accident.
Two infants in the vehicle were transported to UC Davis Medical Center as a precaution. They were checked and released to their father.
The authorities were yet to establish if intoxication was a factor in the crash.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
