San Diego Man Killed, 2 Others Hospitalized after Llano Traffic Crash on Palmdale Road
Llano, CA: (January 29, 2019) – A San Diego man died, and two others were injured in a head-on crash on Sunday morning in Llano, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision took place at about 6:45 a.m., Sunday, January 27, at Palmdale Road between State Route 138 and 26th Street.
The California Highway Patrol said a 54-year-old San Diego man was driving a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser west on State Route 138 when he made a wrong turn to the right. The driver then overcorrected and swerved back into the highway before veering into the opposing traffic. His car then collided head-on with an oncoming Honda CRV.
The San Diego man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and the passenger in the Honda, 49-year-old Sean Swafford and Jessica Swafford, 39, both of West Covina, suffered minor injuries. They were taken to Palmdale Regional Medical Center for treatment.
No other injuries were reported.
The crash is under an investigation.
