Injuries Reported in Hollywood Car Accident on 101 Freeway near Melrose Avenue
Hollywood, California (January 29, 2019) – Injuries were reported Monday night after a stolen car chase ended in a fiery traffic crash in Hollywood, according to a local news source.
The pursuit started at around 7:08 p.m. Monday, January 28 in the area of Third Street and Rampart Boulevard in the Westlake district and ended at about 7:20 p.m. on the freeway near Melrose Avenue.
The local news source reported that an SUV that was being chased ended up colliding with several other vehicles. The SUV then caught fire after the impact.
It was immediately unclear if anyone sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash.
The chase suspect was arrested and transported into custody.
The Hollywood (101) Freeway was closed as emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
