Jesai Andrews ID’d as Skateboarder Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Ingerson Avenue in Bayview
Bayview, California (February 11, 2021) – Authorities have identified the boy who died after being hit by a vehicle while riding a skateboard Wednesday morning in the Bayview neighborhood in San Francisco as Jesai Andrews, 12, of San Francisco.
The deadly accident happened at about 10:11 a.m. Wednesday, February 10 in the 900 block of Ingerson Avenue.
Authorities said Andrews was riding a skateboard on Ingerson Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and rendered aid to Andrews who sustained major injuries in the accident. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The involved driver stopped at the scene and was cooperative, authorities said. It was not immediately clear if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident.
No further details about the accident were immediately provided.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
