Teenager Hurt in Butte County Car Accident on Highway 99 near Evans Reimer Road ID’d as Jacob Titus
Butte County, California (January 11, 2020) – The name of the teenager who suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision that took place in Butte County Sunday morning has been released by the California Highway Patrol.
The major-injury crash occurred on Highway 99 and Evans Reimer Road at around 7:00 a.m. January 5.
Authorities said 18-year-old Jacob Titus was driving a green Subaru Outback westbound on Evans Reimer Road approaching Highway 99 when his vehicle was broadsided by a big rig that was traveling northbound on the highway.
The initial report indicated that Titus was entering the intersection at the time of the collision.

Titus sustained head trauma, a collapsed lung, a torn artery to his heart, and multiple fractures following the crash. He was hospitalized at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, where he underwent a heart and several brain surgeries.
Titus’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover his current and future medical expenses.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed that the weather condition at the time of the accident was foggy.
The CHP is still investigating to identify the cause of the accident.
