Riverbank, California (April 5, 2019) – Authorities have identified the bicyclist was struck and killed by an alleged drunk driver Thursday morning in Riverbank as Jack Douglas Higgs, 70 of Modesto.

The tragic accident took place at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 4 on Claus Road near California Street.

According to the authorities, Jordan Pomares-Boeh, 24, of Oakdale, was driving northbound on Claus Road when for an unknown reason he swerved to the right and hit Higgs.

Bicyclist Fatally Hit by DUI Driver in Riverbank Thursday

Higgs was pronounced dead at the scene. Pomares-Boeh was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public County Safety Center for DUI causing death.
