Isabel Akerlundh ID’d as Woman Killed in Moreno Valley Crash on Gilman Springs Road and Big Nash Road

Moreno Valley, California (May 21, 2019) – The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner has identified Isabel Akerlundh, 48, of Moreno Valley as the woman who was killed Monday morning in a head-on crash in Moreno Valley.
The deadly accident was reported at about 7:25 a.m. Monday, May 20 on Gilman Springs Road at Big Nash Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2015 Dodge Charger driven by Alexander Orellana, 39, was heading westbound on Gilman Springs Road when for an undetermined reason, it veered across the double yellow lines and collided head-on with an eastbound 2009 Volvo S40 driven by Akerlundh.
As a result of the collision, one of the vehicles was pushed down the embankment.

Akerlundh was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Orellana was extricated from the wreckage and transported to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley with serious injuries.
The crash remained under investigation.
