Hillcrest, California (May 1, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Saturday morning traffic accident that left a 24-year-old man injured in Hillcrest.

The accident occurred at about 1:00 a.m. in the 3500 block of Fourth Avenue.

According to the police, the man was riding his Bird scooter northbound on Fourth Avenue when he collided with a raised median and was ejected onto the roadway.

The 3500 block of Fourth Avenue is a one-way street allowing traffic to travel southbound.

The man, who was allegedly intoxicated, sustained a fractured skull, cuts to his face, and scrapes to his neck, chest, shoulder, face, and hands and was hospitalized for treatment.

More details about the accident were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
