Minor Injuries Sustained in Hayward Crash on 880 Freeway near Whipple Road
Hayward, California (February 22, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol said minor injuries were sustained in a two-vehicle accident that happened Saturday afternoon in Hayward.
The incident happened at around 3:52 p.m. on northbound 880 Freeway, just north of Whipple Road.
A blue Toyota Prius and another car collided, blocking traffic lanes.
Paramedics responded to the scene to offer medical aid to an unknown number of parties who complained of pain. It was not clear if anyone was hospitalized.
The Toyota Prius acquired moderate front-end damage in the crash.
The Nos. 1, 2, and the Whipple Road on-ramp to northbound 880 Freeway remained blocked as investigators worked the scene.
All lanes were reopened at 4:26 p.m.
CHP is investigating the incident.
