Scooter Rider Hurt in San Diego Collision on West Mission Bay Drive

San Diego, California (February 22, 2021) – A 30-year-old man was hospitalized after being involved in a scooter accident Sunday afternoon in San Diego.
Authorities responded to the major injury crash site at approximately 1:25 p.m. in the 1200 block of West Mission Bay Drive.
The accident happened when a Ford Escape driven by a 67-year-old woman across a bridge veered off to the right for unknown reasons. The Ford then crashed with a man riding a scooter.
San Diego Scooter Accident Sunday Afternoon
The scooter rider was hospitalized with possible non-life-threatening injuries, including a brain bleed and road rash.
The motorist of the involved vehicle, who remained at the scene, was not believed to have been intoxicated.
The accident remains under investigation by the San Diego Police Department.
