Gayle Houghton Hurt in Fatal Fountain Valley Crash on 405 Freeway near Euclid Street

Fountain Valley, California (April 3, 2019) – A woman was seriously injured in a deadly crash that left her 13-year-old boy dead on Saturday night in Fountain Valley, according to a local news source.
The crash happened at about 10:50 p.m. Saturday, March 30, on the 405 Freeway near Euclid Street.
According to the CHP, a 2015 Honda Odyssey minivan occupied by a family of five was stopped in the northbound HOV lane on 405 Freeway when the driver of a black 2014 Toyota Tacoma failed to see the vehicle and rear-ended it. The Toyota was then hit in the rear by a 2019 Toyota Tacoma.

Gayle was among the five occupants of the van. She was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center with six broken ribs and a fractured pelvis. Gayle’s Husband was also hospitalized at the hospital with head injuries.
Their 13-year-old boy died at the scene of the crash while their other two children were unhurt.
The Toyota driver, a 24-year-old Tustin resident, sustained non-life threatening injuries. He was placed under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
