Woman Seriously Injured in Fresno Pedestrian Accident near Blackstone and Sierra Avenues
Fresno, California (January 6, 2019) – A woman sustained major injuries after she was hit by a vehicle in north Fresno on Saturday night, according to the Fresno Police Department.
The crash happened at about 7:50 p.m. January 5 at Blackstone and Sierra avenues.
Police said a woman was driving a car northbound on Blackstone Avenue and struck the female pedestrian while trying to turn left onto Sierra Avenue.
The victim, identified as a woman in her 50s, was unconscious when she was being transported to a hospital. She was hospitalized with serious injuries.
The driver of the car remained at the scene.
Police said alcohol and drugs were unlikely factors in the accident.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
