Two Men Die in Fresno Industrial Accident at Vista Verde Ranch on Harlan and Stanislaus Avenue

Fresno County, California (January 6, 2019) – Two men died in a fatal industrial accident that occurred at the Vista Verde Ranch in Fresno County on Saturday morning.
According to the deputies, the incident was reported at about 11:15 a.m. January 5 at Harlan and Stanislaus Avenue.
A preliminary investigation found that an almond shaker machine had stopped working and the mechanic alongside the machine operator was trying to repair it. One of them crawled under the machine to disconnect the hydraulic hoses for the shaker arm.
When the man disconnected the hoses, the shaker arm fell on the two men, crushing them.
The victims were both pronounced deceased at the scene. They were aged 66 and 31.
Other workers contacted the authorities immediately after seeing the two had been crushed.
The authorities are investigating the incident.
