Fremont, CA: Multi-Vehicle Traffic Crash on Interstate 680 Friday Night
Major Injuries Sustained in Fremont Car Crash on Interstate 680 near Vargas Road Off-Ramp
Fremont, California (September 26, 2020) – Emergency crews responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle collision that happened Friday night on Interstate 680 in Fremont.
Three vehicles collided at about 10:36 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the interstate, just north of Vargas Road off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The emergency crews found a black Honda Civic with major front-end damage, a silver Dodge pickup truck with rear-end damage, and a black SUV with front-end damage.
Officers did not immediately determine how the crash occurred but said one of the cars hit a Caltrans road closure sign.
The crash resulted in major injuries to an unknown number of parties. Paramedics responded to the scene to help the victims.
Firefighters blocked all southbound lanes of the interstate following the crash. All lanes were reopened at midnight.
