Alameda County: CHP Investigating Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 580 Freeway

Alameda County, California (September 25, 2020) – Possible injuries were reported early Friday morning following a head-on crash in Alameda County, a local news source reported.

The multi-vehicle collision occurred on the Interstate 580 Freeway just east of Altamont Pass at about 2:54 a.m.

A silver Nissan sedan reportedly collided head-on with a white Porsche sedan along the highway for unknown reasons.

The California Highway Patrol said four other unspecified automobiles were involved in the wreck.

Due to the impact, the Nissan and the Porsche acquired major front-end damage.

Alameda County Multi-Vehicle Accident

All involved victims were attended to by medical personnel who responded to the crash site shortly after 2:54 a.m.

Officials requested tow trucks to remove both the Porsche and the Nissan away from the crash site.

The accident remains under investigation.
