Eusebio Ponce Injured in Fatal Head-On Crash on Highway 108 in Oakdale
Eusebio Ponce Hospitalized after Oakdale Crash on Highway 108 near Lancaster Road

Oakdale, California (April 30, 2021) – Eusebio Ponce, 56, of Santa Clara, was hospitalized after being involved in a Friday morning head-on collision that also left another person dead east of Oakdale.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly accident happened at around 6:10 a.m. on Highway 108, just east of Lancaster Road.
The CHP said a 2006 Volkswagen sedan was heading westbound on Highway 108 and was approaching a bend in the roadway when, for unknown reasons, the sedan veered into the oncoming lane, where it collided head-on with an eastbound International box truck driven by Ponce.
As a result of the collision, both vehicles came to a stop in the eastbound lane with major damage.
Ponce suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital while the driver of the sedan died at the scene.
It is still unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
