Lost Hills, California (July 10, 2021) – The pedestrian who died last month following a hit-and-run accident in Lost Hills has been identified by the Kern County Coroner as Esteban Carrillo Ramos, 40, of Sylmar.

The fatal crash happened at about 3:30 a.m., on June 27, on Highway 46, west of Brown Material Road, the California Highway Patrol reported.

According to the CHP, Ramos was struck by a vehicle on Highway 46 under unclear circumstances.

Arriving officers pronounced Ramos dead at the scene.

The driver involved did not stop to render aid to Ramos and fled the scene. There was no description of the suspect’s vehicle or driver.

Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information or who witnessed the collision is asked to contact 661-764-5580.
