Edgar Jimenez ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Fresno Crash at Barton and Gettysburg Avenues

Fresno, California (July 1, 2021) – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who died Wednesday afternoon in a collision with a pickup truck at an intersection in Fresno as Edgar Jimenez, 26, of Fresno.
According to the Fresno Police Department, the deadly motorcycle crash happened at around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, at the intersection of East Gettysburg and North Barton avenues.
Police said Jimenez was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Gettysburg Avenue at a high rate of speed when a Honda pickup that had stopped for a red light in the northbound lane of Barton turned left onto Gettysburg Avenue.
Jimenez’s motorcycle ultimately crashed into the driver-side door of the pickup truck.
Man Killed in Fresno Motorcycle Crash Identified
Jimenez was declared dead at the scene.
The female driver of the Honda was hospitalized in unknown condition.
No other details were immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
