Off-Duty Tulare County Sheriff’s Killed in Car Crash at Avenue 200 and Road 140 Wednesday

Tulare County, California (January 15, 2021) – Authorities have identified the man who died Wednesday night following a single-vehicle crash in Tulare County as an Off-Duty Tulare County Sheriff’s Deputy.
The deadly accident happened just before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, at the intersection of Avenue 200 and Road 140, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to the CHP, the Deputy was driving a 2001 Toyota Tacoma0759800981 eastbound on Avenue 200 when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered onto the road’s shoulder.
He reportedly tried to correct the vehicle, but he lost control of the car. The car veered north and rolled into an almond orchard.
Off-Duty Deputy Killed in Crash on Avenue 200
As a result of the crash, the Sheriff’s Deputy was ejected onto the roadway and died at the scene.
Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
