Dennis Conners Injured in Fatal Head-On Crash on Highway 49 in San Andreas
Dennis Conners Hospitalized after San Andreas Collision on Highway 49 near O’ Connell Lane
San Andreas, California (June 8, 2021) – Dennis W. Conners, 48, of Monrow, Georgia, was injured after being involved in a deadly head-on collision in San Andreas Saturday morning, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The crash occurred at about 7:15 a.m. Saturday, June 5, on Highway 49, just south of O’ Connell Lane.
A 2021 Dodge Ram pickup, driven by Conners, was traveling northbound on Highway 49 when, for undetermined reasons, the Dodge crossed over the double-yellow lines into the opposite lane, where it collided head-on with a 2020 Nissan Altima sedan, the CHP report states.
After the collision, the Dodge rolled over and the Nissan veered onto Highway 49’s west shoulder.

The Nissan driver, only identified as a 50-year-old woman of Des Moines, Iowa, died at the scene. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
Conners sustained minor injuries and was taken to Mark Twain Medical Center in San Andreas.
Highway 49 was closed while the investigation and cleanup took place. It was not immediately clear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
The accident remains under investigation.
