Danita Shook ID’d as Lower Lake Woman Killed in Napa County Crash on Silverado Trail near Yountville Cross Road

Napa County, California (January 22, 2021) – Danita Shook, 40, of Lower Lake, has been identified as the woman who was killed in a Thursday afternoon traffic accident that left two other teens injured in Napa County, the CHP said.
The deadly single-vehicle accident happened at about 4:00 p.m., on January 21, on Silverado Trail, south of Yountville Cross Road near Baldacci Vineyards Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2010 Honda, driven by a 15-year-old Lower Lake girl with a learner’s permit, was headed southbound on Silverado Trail at about 60 mph.
The Honda reportedly veered onto the southbound shoulder and crashed into a tree that was approximately 13 feet west of the roadway.

Shook, who was riding in the front passenger seat, sustained fatal injuries in the accident.
The driver and her 13-year-old brother, who was riding in the back seat, suffered minor injuries in the accident and were transported to Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa. Shook was their mother, the officials said.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
