Coroner Identifies W. Wayne Chandler as Pedestrian Hit and Seriously Hurt at Main Street and Raymond Street
W. Wayne Chandler Hospitalized after Yreka Pedestrian Accident at Main and Raymond Streets
Yreka, California (July 23, 2021) – 76-year-old W. Wayne Chandler has been identified as the Yreka man who was hospitalized with critical injuries following a pedestrian accident at an intersection in Yreka last week Friday morning.
Officials responded to the major injury crash site at around 8:30 a.m., on July 16, near Main Street and Raymond Streets.
Chandler was struck by a vehicle while walking across South Main Street in a marked crosswalk under unclear circumstances.

Wayne Chandler suffered major injuries and was taken to the UC Davis Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the law enforcers.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
