Woman Injured in Chico Car Crash at Pine and East Third Streets
Chico, California (March 9, 2021) – A woman was injured Saturday morning in a traffic accident involving a police vehicle in Chico, according to a local news source.
The California Highway Patrol said the collision happened at about 7:40 a.m. Saturday, March, at the intersection of Pine and East Third streets.
According to the CHP, a 53-year-old woman was driving a 2010 Nissan Maxima southbound on Pine Street in the No. 2 lane when, for unknown reasons, it collided with a 2014 Chevy Tahoe from the Chico Police Department that was heading westbound on East Third Street.
As a result of the collision, the Maxima ended up in the home’s yard at 595 East Third St while the police vehicle came to a rest in the No. 2 southbound lane of Pine Street.
Minor Injury Crash at Pine and East Third Streets in Chico
The driver of the Maxima was transported to Enloe Medical Center with minor injuries. The driver of the police car did not sustain injuries.
Following the collision, the police car acquired significant front-end damage, and the Maxima sustained major damage to the left front of the vehicle.
Neither alcohol nor drugs were considered a factor in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
