1 Killed, Several Injured in Capitola Car Accident at 41st Avenue and Clares Street
Capitola, California (March 27, 2019) – A woman was killed and several other people hurt in a traffic collision that involved three vehicles in Capitola late Tuesday morning.
The multi-vehicle crash was reported at around 10:00 a.m. March 26, at the intersection of 41st Avenue and Clares Street.
As per the California Highway Patrol, a small sedan and a Ford utility van collided with a Santa Cruz Metro bus at the intersection. Due to the impact, the sedan was left mashed in the middle of the road, while the van was pushed into the pavement of the Mattress Firm business.

The collision left a female party dead.
Several other victims were injured in the wreck. One of the victims was airlifted to Dominican Hospital for treatment. The exact number of injured victims and the extent of their injuries remained unknown to this time.
Several lanes, including northbound 41st Avenue, were closed by the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies for several hours due to the crash.
The Capitola Police Department is investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
