27-Year-Old Man Killed, 2 Injured in Byron Car Accident on Vasco Road at Camino Diablo
Byron, California (March 11, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a deadly head-on collision that left a 27-year-old man dead and two other people with minor injuries on Tuesday afternoon in the area of Byron, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision happened at around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, on Vasco Road at Camino Diablo.
As per the CHP officials, a white Chevrolet pickup truck, a box truck and a GMC SUV were involved in the crash. The Chevrolet driver, a 27-year-old man, was heading northbound on Vasco Road when he swerved over the center solid double yellow lines and into the southbound lane, directly in front of the box truck crashing head-on into the box truck.
The impact caused the box truck to spin out and a GMC SUV that was directly behind it slammed into the box truck.
Fatal Truck Crash on Vasco Road Kills Man in Byron
Responding firefighters declared the Chevrolet driver dead at the crash site.
The GMC and the box truck driver suffered minor injuries following the crash. Witnesses are asked to contact the Contra Costa CHP in Martinez at (925) 646-4980.
