San Diego, California (March 11, 2020) – A 40-year-old male party was hospitalized after being involved in a pedestrian accident that happened in the area of San Diego on Tuesday morning, March 10.

The major injury pedestrian collision happened at around 6:45 a.m. in the 1600 block of West Mission Bay Drive near Quivira Access.

According to a local news source, the male pedestrian who was walking on West Mission Bay was hit by a 2012 Mazda driven by a 25-year-old man westbound on West Mission Bay Drive for unknown reasons.

Major Injury San Diego Pedestrian Accident on West Mission Bay Drive

The man was taken to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest for treatment of head trauma and a broken leg injury.

The Mazda operator stopped after the accident and cooperated with the investigation.

The onramp was shut down from northbound Ingraham Street to West Mission Bay Drive and westbound Mission Bay Drive from Ingraham to Quivira for an unknown time.
