Man Killed in Santa Cruz Mountains Pedestrian Accident at Highway 9 and Larkspur Street
Brookdale, California (February 13, 2019) – A man lying on the roadway was struck and killed by a truck Tuesday afternoon in the Santa Cruz Mountains community, according to a local news source.
The fatal accident took place at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 12 near the intersection of Highway 9 and Larkspur Street, a block south of the Brookdale Lodge.
Reportedly, the man was lying near the intersection when he was hit by a truck hauling a trailer.
The man died at the scene. His name has not been released pending identification and notification of his relatives.
The driver involved stopped at the scene and complied with investigators.
As of 5:15 p.m. Larkspur Street was reopened.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
