Meaghan York Killed, Joshua Austin Arrested after Canyon Country Crash at Soledad Canyon Road and Sand Canyon Road

Canyon Country, California (February 13, 2019) – A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a three-vehicle crash that left one person dead in Canyon Country on Monday night.
According to the authorities, the fatal incident was reported at about 11:24 p.m. February 11, at the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Sand Canyon Road.
Deputies said Joshua Austin, 20, of Santa Clarita, was driving a Ford Ranger pickup westbound on Soledad Canyon Road when he allegedly failed to stop for a red light and collided with a Hyundai Elantra at the intersection of Sand Canyon Road.
A Toyota Prius was also involved in the collision.
The driver of the Hyundai, Meaghan York, 21, of Santa Clarita, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Toyota driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The authorities arrested Austin on suspicion of DUI.
The incident is under investigation.
