Benjamin Wilson ID’d as Pedestrian Killed in Stanislaus County Crash on Highway 120 near Pioneer Avenue
Stanislaus County, California (April 23, 2019) – The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle early Saturday morning in an unincorporated part of Stanislaus County northwest of Oakdale has been identified as Benjamin Wilson, 29, of Modesto, according to authorities.
The deadly accident was reported shortly after 1:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20 on Highway 120, just east of Pioneer Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Wilson who was a passenger in a disabled SUV got out and was standing in the roadway of Highway 120 when he was hit by a 2012 Hyundai Elantra that was traveling westbound on Highway 120 at 55 to 65 mph.

Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics.
Emad Samihakim Aiad of Ripon, who was the driver of the Elantra, initially stopped at the scene and call 911. However, an altercation occurred and he left for safety reasons.
The driver of the disabled SUV, identified as Bradley Michael Hiler, 31, was arrested and booked into custody on suspicion of DUI.
Aiad, Hiler and his other passenger were unhurt. As of Tuesday morning, Hiler did not show up in the Stanislaus County Jail booking log.
The crash remains under investigation.
