Bakersfield, California (April 20, 2021) – One person was killed in a fiery two-vehicle crash that left a man injured on Tuesday morning in Bakersfield, authorities said.

The deadly accident occurred at about 3 a.m. at the intersection of Olive Drive and Jewetta Avenue.

According to the police, a man drove through a red light and crashed into another car at the intersection.

Following the collision, one of the vehicles was fully engulfed in flames.

One person in the burning vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver, a man in his 40s, suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
