Bakersfield, California (July 16, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol said at least one person suffered major injuries after a two-vehicle collision that happened Thursday night in Bakersfield.

Authorities said the accident happened at around 9:55 p.m. on Merle Haggard Drive and Highway 65, just in front of ARCO petrol station.

The report did not mention how and why a pickup truck collided with another car, possibly a Mini Cooper.

Responding emergency crews found at least one person with major injuries. An ambulance was requested to the scene to take the victim to the hospital.

No other details were given about the accident.

CHP is investigating the incident.
