Fresno Man Killed in Car Crash on 5 Freeway near Lake Hughes Road in Castaic
Castaic, California (September 24, 2020) – The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office has disclosed the identity of a man who was killed in a car crash in Castaic on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 2:43 p.m. September 2, on 5 Freeway near Lake Hughes Road.
64-year-old Ashot Mesropyan, of Fresno, was driving a 2005 Chrysler 300 on the right shoulder of the 5 Freeway when he lost control and went down a steep canyon.
Mesropyan, who was the only occupant in the vehicle, was killed in the accident.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
