Angel Alvares Hospitalized after Dos Palos Drowning Accident in Merced County
Dos Palos, California (January 18, 2019) – A 1-year-old boy was hospitalized after a nearly drowning incident on January 2 in Merced County, according to a local news source.
The accident happened on Wednesday, January 2, in Dos Palos.
As per the report, Angel Martinez Alvares was playing outside with her 6-year-old sister when he wandered off and fell into a nearby canal. A neighbor identified as Steven Solis jumped into the canal and saved Alvares.
Officials said that CPR was performed on the boy until emergency crews arrived. The boy was transported to Valley Children’s Hospital where he is recovering.
An investigation into this incident is underway.
