Orange, California (January 18, 2019) – A passenger was hurt after a big rig collision at an intersection in Orange, according to a local news source.

The accident happened at around 2:20 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, at Batavia Street and Grove Avenue.

As per the report, a Mini Cooper crashed into the trailer of a FedEx big rig.

An ambulance was sent to the scene to attend to the injured parties.

Emergency crews along with paramedics arrived at the scene to attend to the injured parties. A person riding in the Mini Cooper was pinned inside the vehicle. The passenger was freed using Jaws of Life and was rushed to the hospital for treatment of injuries of unknown degree.

The truck driver reportedly appeared unhurt in the collision.

Officials later arrested the Mini Cooper driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

An investigation is underway.
