50-Year-Old Man Killed, Amardeep Singh Arrested after Rio Linda Car Accident on Elkhorn Boulevard

Rio Linda, California (August 4, 2020) – Amardeep Singh, 29, has been identified as the man who was arrested after an alleged DUI crash that killed a 50-year-old man and left several others injured on Monday night in Rio Linda, police said.
The deadly accident occurred shortly before midnight on August 3, on Elkhorn Boulevard.
A grey Toyota Corolla, driven by Singh, was driving westbound on Elkhorn Boulevard behind a white Audi Sedan when it collided head-on with a white Dodge Van, driven by the 50-year-old man, the CHP said.
The Corolla then struck the Audi Sedan and a white Toyota Tundra, which was driving behind the Dodge, the officials said.

Sadly the 50-year-old man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The other drivers sustained minor injuries in the crash,
Singh was transported to Mercy San Juan Medical Center for treatment in unknown condition. He was then arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Singh was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for driving under the influence, causing bodily injury or death with a Blood Alcohol Content of .08% or higher and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
The crash remains under investigation.
