Sonoma, California (June 13, 2021) –The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office has identified the motorcyclist who died  Wednesday evening in a traffic accident on a highway south of Sonoma as Allen Glenn Sison Joson, 47, of Vallejo.

The deadly motorcycle crash happened at about 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, on Highway 37, just west of the Richard “Fresh Air” Janson Bridge over Sonoma Creek.

Authorities said Joson was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Highway 37 when he slowed down due to a traffic backup ahead.

For an unknown reason, Joson was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Express van, driven by a 38-year-old Vallejo man. The impact knocked the motorcycle off the roadway and slid down an embankment.

The van then slammed into the back of a Hyundai Sonata, which then rear-ended a Dodge Ram pickup. Following the crash, the van and the Sonata also slid down the embankment.

First responders arrived at the scene and located Joson lying in the thick brush nearby.  Sadly, he was declared dead at the scene.

The driver of the Sonata, a 66-year-old woman, was transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries.

CHP said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the accident, which remains under investigation.
