Abraham Cortez-Rodriguez ID’d as Lake Elsinore Man Killed in Perris Crash on Highway 74
Perris, California (March 14, 2021) – Abraham Cortez-Rodriguez, 25, of Lake Elsinore, has been identified as the man who was killed in a Saturday morning traffic accident that left two other parties injured in Perris, according to the coroner’s office.
The deadly accident occurred at about 5:50 a.m., on March 13, on Highway 74.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2004 Honda Accord, driven by Cortez-Rodriguez, was traveling the wrong way on the westbound side of the highway when it crashed into an oncoming 2000 Nissan Pathfinder.
Both drivers were reportedly not wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. Cortez-Rodriguez was suspected of having been intoxicated.

Sadly, Cortez-Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Pathfinder, the 52-year-old Lake Elsinore man, was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center with major injuries.
One other person involved in the accident declined hospitalization.
Drugs or alcohol were suspected of having played a role in the mishap.
The crash remains under investigation.
