14-Year-Old Teen Hospitalized after Winton Crash on Olive Avenue
Winton, California (March 14, 2021) – A 14-year-old teen was injured in a go-kart crash on Saturday evening in Winton, authorities said.
The accident occurred at about 7:15 p.m., on March 13, in the 8000 block of Olive Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a go-kart crash, operated by a 15-year-old female driver, was traveling westbound in an orchard area when, for unknown reasons, it lost control and struck an almond tree.
Following the collision, the female teen passenger was ejected from the vehicle. Neither rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Teenager Injured Winton Crash
The teenager suffered lacerations to her head. She was airlifted to Valley Children’s Hospital with major injuries.
Intoxication was not suspected of having played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
