One Killed in Interstate 10 Accident near Indian Canyon Drive in Desert Hot Springs

Desert Hot Springs, California (December 10, 2020) – One person was killed late Wednesday night in a fiery traffic accident caused by a wrong-way driver in Desert Hot Springs, according to a local news source.
The deadly two-car crash, which was reported to the California Highway Patrol officers at around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, happened on Interstate 10, just west of Indian Canyon Drive.
According to the CHP, two vehicles collided head-on in the eastbound lane of Interstate 10. One car was traveling the wrong-way prior to the collision, authorities said.
One of the vehicles involved caught on fire after the impact.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and pulled one passenger from the burning vehicle. According to the CHP, one person later succumbed to their injuries following the accident. The name of the deceased victim was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
