Santa Cruz, California (October 31, 2020) – A 48-year-old Aptos man was killed in a bicycle accident that happened in Rio Del Mar, Santa Cruz County, on Friday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 12:20 p.m. October 30, on Rio Del Mar Boulevard.

The man was reportedly riding a bicycle westbound on the roadway when he lost control of the bike and crashed into a Toyota Avalon and a Chevrolet pickup that were parked at Rio Del Mar Esplanade.

The impact of the collision ejected the bicyclist.

The unidentified bicyclist was transported to a Santa Clara medical center where he died while undergoing treatment.
