Long Beach, California (October 31, 2020) – Two people were killed, and at least seven others were injured in a wrong-way car crash on Saturday morning in Long Beach, authorities said.

The deadly multi-vehicle accident happened at about 3:50 a.m. on southbound 405 Freeway near Palo Verde Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, several vehicles collided on the freeway. 

One of the vehicles was reportedly driving the wrong way when the accident transpired.

At least two people were ejected from one of the vehicles, the officials said.

Two people sustained fatal injuries in the accident.

At least seven people were injured in the accident. Two patients sustained major injuries, and five others with minor injuries.

The freeway’s northbound lanes were blocked at Palo Verde Avenue for an unknown period due to the mishap.

An investigation into the collision is underway.
